One reviewer says, "Quinn delicately balances both the light and dark aspects of music through mysterious sonic journeys; each piece is aural art that should be steeped long and savored like an herbal tea.

Beneath the Quiet

Someone once wrote on a wall "Clapton is God!", I think they got it wrong, no offense to the artist or anybody in particular. The music on this CD is more than I could hope for in the sounds that calm my weary soul.

Electronic/World music with varied intentions

There are a lot of good things to be said about this album. In the vein of Enigma and Amethystium, Quinn combines World percussion, electronica, and ocassional voices (and voice samples), and does so with quite good production values. There were times when this album truly reached me on an emotional level, and that is high praise. The percussion and production were the two high points of this album to me. I only found two areas that I thought could improve: First, I think this album mostly has material that would make a great chill-out or relaxation album, but a few of the songs are too up-tempo for this, which is a pity. Second, I was turned off by the answering machine message used in one song. I detect just a bit of an ego from this artist that is usually not found on albums in this genre. Still, I think Quinn has much to be proud of with Beneath The Quiet. It is likely that I'll be purchasing more Quinn albums.

Soothing and relaxing. Nice change from the everyday sounds. When quietness isn't enough to relax, "beneath the quiet" clears my mind.
