Album Notes

Quinn's Uncles is an acoustic rock act hailing from Chicago. Made up of the brother team of Tim Meade and Jim Meade, this dynamic duo cranks out their unforgettable original songs as well as hits by bands from The Verve Pipe to The Who. Check out their newest release, “Overdogs,” with songs ranging from the Stone Temple Pilots-esque, “Summer Sun,” to the southern-fried rocker, “Sweet Tea” – it's the cheapest way to take the Uncles home with you.

Tim Meade is a former member of the national touring group Blind Man's Bluff. He has also toured the nation twice with the hit musical, “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” A native of the Detroit area, Tim has sung and played guitar in countless rock bands. However, the unique blend of two brother's voices and guitars cannot be denied – Quinn's Uncles is his best work yet.

Jim Meade is a Detroit area native as well (go figure). Jim, too, has led countless rock bands through the trenches as lead singer and guitarist. He was recruited last fall to play Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” the ultimate challenge in rock opera. Jim brings his songwriting talents and English-major lyrics to make Quinn's Uncles an extremely tuneful and thoughtful band.

REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS: Say 'Uncle': Duo has crowds chanting 'Oh, Brother' By Paul Barile

"Tim, along with brother Jim, makes acoustic pop music that features serenely imaginative strumming patterns over accessible pop melodies."

“Playing with Jim is perfect,” Tim said. “We came from practically the same brain. There's just enough difference to foster variety. We have the same roots - the same background. It's like having your right arm up there with you.”

“It seems strange, but we're into the hair bands of the '80s,” Tim said. “We also like Van Halen's guitar playing and songwriting of that time period. We also like Verve Pipe - also Michigan natives.”

"When you listen to their disc, you can hear one of the brothers work the high parts of the vocals not unlike their big-haired influences."

great voices singing tight and complex harmonies with inventive musicianship

this record is a bit like a clown car. it's only two guys with acoustic guitars from the outside, but there's almost no end to the boat-load of rock and roll climbing out of it. musical styles ranging from straight up acoustic guitar rock with insanely catchy hooks and clever lyrics to power ballads that would make even jbj shed a tear to boderline psychedelia that makes you wonder how these guys get an acoustic guitar to do what they get it to do. great voices singing tight and complex harmonies with inventive musicianship and lyrical guitar playing. 'overdogs' rocks.

Good n' Catchy

Love love love Something I Can Believe, Sweet Tea, Heart and Head, One Note Sally, and Have Mercy on my Soul. The others haven't caught my ear yet. I like to think of this as nice southern acoustic rock. Great harmonies, wonderful guitar work, and catchy tunes.
