Album Notes

Great songwriting...passionate performances...music that defies labels.

Quoting Napoleon is a talented new band from Portland, OR with a new album making waves in the local music scene and beyond.

One online reviewer had this to say about the standout track "Low Is Under":

When hearing this song I find it impossible to sit still. This is one of those tunes that anyone can appreciate. Great vocals, great arrangment. I love the build up, that moment of silence made the next line so much more powerful. I was literally on the edge of my seat wishing the music would start again. Then it did and I was happy! Thanks. You guys are awesome. -Reviewer, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

“The blue electric slide guitar floats over the acoustic strumming like a nasty poisonous bumblebee - ominous, dirty, threatening. There’s desperation in the singer’s voice as well as a touch of vulnerability that makes the performance wrenching. The lyrics are cryptic and powerful. It’s a love song, or a plea for love, but the singer sounds so trapped in his own private hell, it’s hard to imagine the object of his affection responding to his prayers. The production and mix is first rate, nice instrumental balance and an intense energy that lifts the tune and makes it soar.” Reviewer, San Francisco, California

This collection of songs stays with you long after the disc stops spinning.

Quoting Napoleon-The Belle Of Amherst
author: Robert Blythe
I found The Belle Of Amherst(track 10)on You Tube then went to the band site and bought the CD. This song went right through my soul. It\'s hypnotic. John Salazar\'s voice is breathtaking. The rest of the CD is very tasteful also. I have been looking for a band like this for a long time. I knew there was still GOOD music out there!
