Album Notes

Over the past year, Rachel has been recording a mass of material, culminating in her CD 'medusa', with a second CD already in the planning stages. She has recently appeared in a variety of venues from the Festival of Friends main stage in Hamilton, Ontario last summer to a benefit for Inasmuch House and as featured musician for The Dinner Party, an IWD event, featuring guest speaker Irshad Manji.

Rachel began playing piano at the age of 3 and by the time she was 18, had earned her degree in classical piano from the RCM in Toronto. A degree in theatre performance from York U. soon followed with Rachel appearing in film, t.v. and theatre throughout southern Ontario.

Her music, inspired by everyone from Kate Bush to Mozart, is filled with elegance and lyricism and is layered with a strong groove, mature melodies and rich vocal harmonies.

Her life of working in film and theatre, traveling and living all over the world, working with a host of both musicians, actors and artists provided a rich stream of life experiences which infuse all her work.

In live performance, a passionate, intense experience is provided for all willing to live inside the moment as Rachel reveals the full spectrum of expression available to the truly gifted. Her dynamism and acute sense of drama, combined with a lyrical gift, assure her of a respected position amongst the pre-eminent songwriters of our time.
