Album Notes

"Radical Turf Presents: First Disguised as Last" is an hour-long compilation album that features the most cutting edge and innovative artists in today's electronic music scene. Showcasing artists from the USA: Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, North Carolina...as well as amazing European artists from Krefeld Germany. This CD explores the styles of IDM, Big-Beat, Ambient, Art-Noise and Analog Synth pop. A MUST HAVE for the true fans of the modern electronica scene. reviews: Believe The Hype......this is what THEY say about this CD: URB MAGAZINE REVIEW OF "Radical Turf presents: First Disguised as Last" APRIL 2006 Issue: == "Various Artists: First Disguised as Last (Radical Turf Records) Who's on it? Lo-fi electronica artists who make special sounds on their computers, like Wisteria Losenge and The Marlboro Chorus. Any good? Mainstream music is often so polished but here you get the feeling that these songs were intimately created in someone's loft. More art-fuck, less corporate. Caustic's rap feast "The 10th Bullet" makes it shine. " -GZW Associate Editor URB Magazine, April 2006 ======= "A wonderfully eclectic compilation of electro pop , broken beat electronics, and everything in between. Definitely for the curious. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ERASOUL.COM" ==== "Radical Turf is a label that does not want to limit itself with musical boundaries. A colourful ecclectism and an attractive diversity that can be translated into analog sonorities, samples, acid sequences, downtempo rhythms, Middle Eastern elements, Drum and Bass syncopations, scratching, ambient passages, Hip Hop grooves, Techno pounding beats, deep Dub waves and organic instrumentation." DJ/Host Jean-Francois Fecteau, CFOU 89.1 FM -Trois-Rivieres-Ouest, Quebec, Canada

I was blown away by how fresh this compilation is!

I was blown away by how fresh this compilation is! Some labels use the term 'cutting edge' loosely. Not so in this case, Radical Turf is so cutting edge they're probably covered in band-aids from so many nicks and scratches from the blade. If you wear a pocket protector and like your electronica full of spice, you'll find this slice of pie just right!
