Album Notes

Described by fans as 'Beck a-la Femme' and 'Industrial Folk-Rock', radio caroline south is the musical vehicle of Thalia Kemp, former lead vocalist and bass player of underground Australian indie cult band, Ziggerants.

With radio caroline south, Thalia has drawn from her years of experience as a live performer - including two Indie charting songs and supports with They Might Be Giants, Buzzcocks, Sugarcubes and others - to write, play and produce her entirely original solo album, Brunswick Road.

Shifting focus from live to studio, Thalia demonstrates her accomplishment as a songwriter and musician, playing the guitars, bass guitar, drums, samples, arrangements and vocals for radio caroline south. Joined by accomplished Jazz trumpeter Chuck Probert on the track Funky Damon, radio caroline south explores the soundscapes of dance rock with experienced and soulful songwriting and draws inspiration from a diverse set of influences stretching from Muse, Tricky and PJ Harvey to Henry Mancini, Sparklehorse and 'Bourne' film composer, John Powell.

Named after the famous pirate radio station where Thalia's father worked in the 1960's, this one woman show has already won a competition and is about embark on a promotional tour of the UK.

(the name radio caroline south is used by permission of Radio Caroline UK and Australia).
