The song is an anthem for a generation of people who grew up believing that "the future" was going to be different. We bought the line from Disney, Madison Avenue and other purveyors of dreams. A sloppy groove from an old Kay guitar found on eBay produces a sound that makes people think of very early Aerosmith meeting Lyle Lovett in a bar and introducing him to Frank Zappa on the way to a Beck concert.
