Album Notes

CMJ's NEW MUSIC writes that the Chicago-based band, THE RADIO HOUR is the 'A&R PICK' (Artist & Repertoire) for its nationally distributed edition for May 10, 1999. Order a copy of this dynamic, all-analog album with its true to life '70s pop production.

CMJ NEW MUSIC is a premier industry trade magazine in the United States. CMJ NEW MUSIC REPORT tracks industry-wide activity and it reports on artists who are signed by major & independent record labels. CMJ NEW MUSIC REPORT endorses only one unsigned artist per issue to be its A&R PICK. In the May 10th edition, the 'A&R PICK' is the '99 debut release entitled, World's Worst Antenna, by THE RADIO HOUR.

Among other complimentary points, CMJ notes the "smart, tight melodies,"and "superior production" of the album, and it endorses the band's material to be "a quick lesson in simple-but-effective songwriting."

THE RADIO HOUR is the songwriting outlet for Chicago performing-songwriter Tim Hort. The band has been around only since Fall '98, and is not represented by a record label to date. The band's sound has been compared with an edgier Matthew Sweet, Reconstruction-era REM, Pixies and Paul Westerberg.

CDbaby also carries the new 2002 self-titled release, "The Radio Hour" - a moody and musically accomplished record in the vein of Pink Floyd. Check out the album and pick up a copy.
