Album Notes

Rad Unicorn is a quiet & strange guitar & bass duo, making minimal music that touches on folk and blues, indie rock and psychedelia. We're also one of very few bands in this universe comfortable performing songs by both the Swans and Night Ranger.

We're a couple. We met in a noisy rock band and fell in love singing harmony. Our love is in our music and vice versa.

We do our own recording. We've been in a variety of other bands, and had a variety of other roles. Between the two of us we've made radio commercials imitating elvis and scored short films, made concept hip-hop albums about time travel, worked as a recording engineer and a magazine editor and a computer geek and all sorts of stupid jobs. we both have played many different instruments poorly, and settled, more or less, on the ones we love best: guitar and bass guitar.

Perhaps it's old-fashioned or useless to say again, but we believe in a world where music isn't about selling hair product or flavorless beer. We make our music at home and in small venues in front of our friends, and we do our best to make it sound like what we feel. We hope it sounds like what you feel too. And we hope sometimes you're not quite that sad. But, when you are, our music will be here for you.

We're currently recording our second album. We're not ashamed to say it's looking like it'll be a concept album. It will tell a strange story about corrupt company towns, ghosts trapped in trees, and what the dead do when they're alone on an empty road.
