This is a story about a small town beset by thieves, and overturned by flood and calamity. Mine operators crush strikers; forests are haunted; graves open; the river rises. In the end there is a clear night sky.

Rad Unicorn and the Ecstatic Virgins make dirty songs for haunted hearts, reaching down to the dark roots of country and blues to craft songs that feel both familiar and urgent.
Our music offers an antidote to the slick technology of modern life. We play traditional instruments like fiddle, dulcimer, and autoharp in addition to guitar, bass, and piano. Rich vocal harmonies round out the mix.
Our songs tell the stories of ghosts and murderers, striking miners, hopeless drunks, bloody roads, and dangerous trees.
Ero and Suzanne Gray have been playing music together since 1994. Ero plays guitar, Suzanne bass, and they both sing. They formed a duo, Rad Unicorn, in 2002 and released a full-length album, Asleep in the Forest, in 2007 (available at www.cdbaby.com/radunicorn).
By 2008, the couple wanted to expand their sound, so they invited their musical friends to practice with them in their living room and became Rad Unicorn and the Ecstatic Virgins.
Jonathan Bourland plays guitar, piano and Appalachian dulcimer. Ryan Dohoney sings and plays piano, percussion, and autoharp. Sean Hagerty, an accomplished violinist, plays fiddle and mandolin.
Rad Unicorn and the Ecstatic Virgins perform in and around the New York City region.
