Guitar virtuoso / Singer-Songwriter / Producer Rafael Moreira's debut instrumental album, "Acid Guitar" is an eclectic Intrumental blend of Rock, Jazz and Brazilian music with vocal lines complimenting the song's melodies and soulful, shredding guitar solos. Known to concert and record buying audiences worldwide as a preeminent musician, Rafael is an intuitive musician and relentless performer, whose instincts and passions are balanced by his versatility and technical dexterity.
Among his many accomplishments, Rafael was the featured lead guitarist / vocalist on the hit CBS television shows Rock Star INXS and Supernova, and most recently on MTV's Rock the Cradle. He has also appeared as lead guitarist / supporting vocalist live on world tours and television, as well as on CD & DVD releases, with world renowned and groundbreaking artists such as Paul Stanley (KISS), Don Felder (The Eagles), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Pink, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony and Utada to name a few.
In addition to these performances, Rafael was invited to record on the debut project for the group Shapes, produced by Jimmy Haslip, where he performed with two legendary Brazilian artists: drummer Airto Moreira and singer Flora Purim.
Born in Cambara, Parana, in Southern Brazil, Rafael came of age miles from the nearest city, far outside the range of any radio station. It was the artistic influence of his mother, a classical / jazz pianist that fueled his earliest musical ambitions. He started singing at age two, by five he was playing guitar.
The rich musical diversity of Brazil, particularly the artistry of Djavan, Milton Nascimento and Antonio Carlos Jobim, proved an undeniable influence on Rafael's musical upbringing. His mother also took infrequent trips to Sao Paulo, and she would return bearing the latest rock records – including the Rolling Stones and KISS – which he would assimilate. As a singer-songwriter, composer and musician, Rafael continues to combine a wide variety of musical ingredients – rock, jazz, funk, and Brazilian music – into new forms. His intense dedication to his craft is matched by his impeccable musicality. His musical horizons are limitless.

Read his bio, it says it all.
Rafael is a very unique and genius guitar player and music composer. I have heard him play heavy metal, classic rock, alterative, pop, classical and this sweeping Brazilian Jazz is remarkle. Rafael, is not just another guitar player, Definately ranks way high.
Great stage presence! He knows how to entertain. I am looking forward to hearing the new album from his latest progressive rock project "Magnetico".

Not what I was expecting, but very good.

This cd is not what I was expecting at all. The only music I had heard from Rafael, was on the Rockstar series, and a couple of youtube videos. I thought the music would be a lot "harder" and a little more "traditional" playing. Like a lot of pentatonic riffs and scales, some shredding, etc. But that's what makes this cd and Rafael so great, he's different, and he adds all kinds of different elements and cultural styles into his music. Over all, I'd have to say the cd is great. Rafael keep makin' kick ass music. Definitely in my top 20 favorite guitarists.
