Album Notes

Ragged Hearts are a Houston, Texas based rock and roll band, featuring former members of Sylvain Sylvain's Band ( of the New York Dolls), The Applicators, and Trashcan Punch.

Founding members, Corey Power, Davey Jonez , and Don Paul West envisioned a band with a “Do It Yourself” attitude that focused on honest songwriting, heartfelt live performance, mutual creative contribution, and a band that would draw on the entire 50+ year tradition of Rock and Roll for inspiration.

Their debut cd, “Her Bright White Light” was released on the Basement Boy Records imprint in October of 2006, and features 3 songs produced and recorded by The Glammer Twins (Bam and Share Ross– Dogs D Amour, Bubble, Vixen, Wildhearts) and 8 self produced and recorded songs. The album also features some very cool artwork by the likes of Tyla, Jo Almeida, and design/ layout work by Bam13Ink.com!!!

REVIEWS

surprisingly good
author: David Morris
For a band that is not well known, Ragged Hearts is quite good. Actually, they are good anyway. My son intoduced me to them, and I had to get this CD. I E-mailed one of the songs to some of my relatives, and they all liked it. I wish stuff like this could get on the radio.

A melodic, catchy and haunting album.

The Ragged Hearts bring a whole new dimension to the bluesy bourbon and buffalo-hide genre with a clever, catchy album soaked in raw emotion. From the explosive opening cut, the band runs through the full gamut of high-energy rock and roll through to reflective and contemplative acoustio material which is so personal you could almost be there. Excellent!
