As one of the first LGBT-identified crews in rap music, San Francisco-based Rainbow Flava continues to break new ground by challenging the homophobic stereotypes and boundaries of the hip-hop world.
Rainbow Flava has assembled an impressive range of styles and material, combining Dutchboy's hardcore rhymes and bass-heavy, sample-driven beats, Tori Fixx's R&B-flavored production and vocal stylings, and the skilled turntablism of DJ Monkey.
Lyrics range from the political and topical ("White Horse," "Sweet Playa") to old-school battle rhyming ("Down and Out," "Can I Get A Witness?") to straight-up party jams ("Freaky").

This Cd is truly unique. My favorite cut is the down & Out remix. The flows are cool and the groove is cool. I just wish the rest of the CD was the same. All in all not too bad. If you're looking for something alternative this would be the place to look.

I must admit I was cynical at first, I guess from my own internalized shit, but all I can say is the shit is tight, I would highly recommend it to anyone, the "Sweet Playa" cut is my favorite, as well as the "Can I get a witness", it is good to the soul for this SGL to be apart of the hiphop scene and still feel I can respect myself, I was so proud of this CD that I played it at work in front of my work associates, I'm in the military, peace out, oh yeah, ya'll to get the lasted one of this one in, heard that was the joint for real!
