Album Notes

Rain Savage Was born in Camden New Jersey on December 16th 1981. On 1987 his mother moved to Dallas, Texas with a new company for work. From there Rain Savage began listening to Rap music in 1992. In 1994 he began remaking bone songs with a couple of school friends in Duncanville. They even filmed music videos. The first rap group he played a major role in was NTF a group of 6 members including J love, Lowrider, Killa K, J Rich, and others. Rain would then form a new group Eraser and Lo'Key and they were known as Lyrically Dangerous Crew. After a few years Lo'Key and Eraser would leave the group to form their own 2 Man rap group. From there Rain would develop his own record label and recruit over 13 rappers under him and he would record them in his mom’s house on his computer using Sound Recorder 32. Its amazing that he pulled it off, even getting shows in Dallas with the new LDC "Rain Acity & Massive" They went to Madd Bass studios in E. Orange, NJ. in 1998. Kasim Samad and Walt the producers and engineer would put a lot of time and effort into recording the demo that contained only 5 songs.

When they returned to Dallas the group stormed into a radio station and met with Radio Program director Skip Cheatum of K104 fm and played the demo for him and asked him to play this on the air. At that time the songs where not edited and there was no album ready to go. After talking with Skip Rain realized that their is a business side to the music industry that out weighs talent. After reformatting everything they have done and starting new they finally got "Ride Wit A Savage on the radio for a week strait and "Do Tha Thang" aired once on 97.9 the beat.

If I didn't feel like the artist was capable of better work , I would've definitely rated this a "5 STAR" CD. From beginning to end , I was more than satisfied with my purchase of "STILL A SAVAGE". My 5 favorite tracks are : 1)# 20 Get Ur Mind Right (A-Y-O-CLIFF MIX) - This joint GO OFF!!! I'm a cop the RINGTONE as soon as I find out where to get it. Everything meshed so well in this song. I played it over an over again. So many times that my CD now skips whenever this song comes on.lol 2)#7 Real Talk - The hook is real tight an catchy , the beat is hot , Rain shows some serious wordplay on this track. 3)Texas Song Feat. K.T. & Ma$$ive - I like the energy on this one . I never been to Texas , but these guys make me wanna go. They definitely reppin Dallas to the fullest in this song. So much so , I catch MYSELF singin the hook " When you ballin like me , then you must be reppin Texas..." an I'm a New Yorker! lol 4)I Got A Lot 2 Gain - It's the hook , an the message of the entire song which appeals to me most about this joint. It's more than just a get money track , it's the passion behind the money makin , the drive inside the man who's wavin his money around. I feel this track. Plus the hook is probably the most catchy of all the songs on this Album. 5)Still A Savage - Now , perhaps it was because I was so quick to press repeat on track 20 ( which I did so much the song skips now...I told you that right? ) but I definitely slept on this song right here. I just discovered it today, I like the song alot. There are alot of change ups in the delivery , the message is a strong one and one I agree with , I like the beat, Rain came hard wit it on this joint. Overall , this album is tighter than a G's lips in an interrogation room down at the precinct. A must have for any Hip Hop listener who appreciates real people doing real things. Rain Savage is not selling an image here , He's selling Himself. This is the brand of Hip Hop that the game's been missing.
