Raison d'Etre for England
author: Addie
I recently had the chance to take this CD as a gift to some friends that live in Stratford-Upon-Avon in England. The gentleman I gave it to sings traditional English folk music, and he especially enjoyed the "trad" tunes on the album. "Hearts Content" provides the best of both worlds
author: Dixie Hoffman
Yes! "Hearts Content" provides the best of both worlds to this listener -- cover songs, and originals. The CD contains wonderful arrangements of some longtime "classic" favorites like Neil Young's "After the Goldrush", Jesse Winchester's "Nothing But a Breeze", and Michael Nesmith's "Some of Shelly's Blues". Included in the five original songs is "I've Got the Heart", which gives me chills (and that's a good thing), and the haunting "Broken Radio" (another choice cut). Raison D'Etre's voices perfectly complement each other, making for a very enjoyable collection of music. See if you can play this CD all the way through without stopping to repeat certain cuts -- I certainly can't!!
