Album Notes

Rajamani's music is a sound that is at once foreign and familiar.  Drawing upon ancient Eastern traditions, his music resonates in a deep place within its listeners, while remaining accessible and satisfying to the Western ear.  Rajamani's shows are spiritually uniting, melodically soothing, rhythmically energizing, technically breathtaking, and historically educating.  The music portrays the migration of the Roma (Gypsies) from their homeland in India into the Middle East into Europe beginning from the year 1000.  Rajamani also keeps alive a banishing folk music art form rarely heard outside of its region in Southern India and also extremely ancient namely, "Naiyandi".   Another factor in Rajamani's music are the various unique and ancient drumming art forms represented.  These art forms include drums and their styles ranging from lands such as India, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
