The evolution of Steelbands in Switzerland began somewhere in the late seventies and I was asked by a good friend to help. I decided to go to Switzerland to check out the scene, and eventually stayed on. during the years that followed, I ran workshops and played a few gigs. After a few years I decided to put together a band. "EVOLUTION" was the result. The band consisted of twenty players from workshops, but with no prior musical knowledge. With me as tutor, we played for quite a few years together. Progress was slow. The practice time together was always too short - 2 hours weekly, so in terms of years, it is not what it seems.
This CD is a result of the work that we did together. I hope you enjoy listening to it.
