  • Karen Carpenter on steroids! Ramona rocks!
    author: Doktor Krankheit

The CD "Intermission" will have you have your foot tapping from start to finish. Ramona Silver is Karen Carpenter on steroids. Her band really rocks on "Home is Where", "If I Sing", "Haunted". This is folk rock at its best --- clear singing, lively beat, emotions match the clever lyrics. "Daisy" and "Tricky World" blend Ramona Silver's great voice over a strong bass beat. The last "Intermission" track is a hard driving instrumental feast that shows off her band at its best -- great guitar riffs. This CD is a wonderful variety of sounds that is great fun to listen to, start to finish. Short enough to play over and over. Great music for cruising along 128 in my '65 Mustang -- if I still had it, :(

  • Great songs, arrangements, players, sounds, production!

Really like all the tunes. Nice vocal melodies; nothing cliché or run-of-the-mill. Strong, interesting lyrics. All great performances from the musicians - nothing that overshadows the tune...everything complimentary. Sounds are rich and well-balanced... great production top to bottom.

  • Vision, style, & talent in a brief offering!
    author: Mr. Curt

"Intermission" is a wonderful little taste of Ramona Silver's talent, filled with unique flourishes and optimistic energy, brimming with hopes and desires for a more complete fullness of Life. Six new tunes that capture her vibrant energy and both the gorgeous cooing & the grinding crunch make this pop-rock all the more pertinent for the contemporary market. Clearly another fine addition to Silver's oeuvre.

  • "Intermission" gets your ear buds bopping.
    author: Bob Peirce

Ramona Silver has been making music for headphones for the past ten years. "Intermission" gives the i-Pod generation something fresh to get their ear buds bopping. From the crazy twisting B-52's style chorus (ala Kate and Cindy) of "Home is Where," to the slow grind chug of "Haunted," Ramona's voice goes down smooth and leaves you dizzy on repeated listens. Whirling keyboard chimes and big fat guitar sounds, yet there's still room for you to lean in close and hear her whisper, "I've been haunted by the weight of loving, haunted by the wait for you..." In the killer Beach Boys style bridge of Tricky World she beckons you to let go of the wheel, "climb in back" and let her drive. And aren't you glad you did.
