Dr. Ramoo Prasad Shastri was born in 1939 in Chetganj in Mirzapur district of Uttar pradesh, India. Shri Ramooji was initiated into music by Shri H.N.Verma,
Shri Bade Ramdasji and Ustad Allauddin Khan. He has performed in concerts for over 30 years. Dr Shastri taught at Banaras Hindu University for 40 years.
He received the Sangeet Natak Academy awards in 2007. This CD was recorded live in Shri Shastris home. The Tabla player on track 2 and 3 is the outstanding
Ragunath Mishra from Mirzapur. Anu Goonj means vibration at the molecular level.
