Biography
"RANDEVYN." Does this name sound familiar? Not yet. This vocal heavyweight and self-proclaimed "soul singer" - as the intro to the much anticipated debut release SolTrain proclaims - brings a new flare to urban music. While he comes from a long line of singers and musicians, he's determined to be the first success story of his family. He credits a plethora of vocal trail blazers such as Stevie Wonder, Peter Cetera, Donnie Hathaway, Sting and Kim Burrell for influencing his style.
This southern-fried choirboy made his world premiere in Newport News, Virginia. Randevyn was already making a name for himself in local churches by the time he was 13. While in high school - where he led and directed the inspirational choir - he was introduced to the late Rev. James Moore. Moore was so impressed with the potential he saw in young Randevyn that he took him under his wings and nurtured his musical gift. As a result of this relationship, he became a lead tenor for Stellar Award-winning Joe Pace and the Colorado Mass Choir.
However, Randevyn's musical soul soon became restless and he answered the call of urban music mecca, Atlanta, Georgia. In just two short years, his list of credits reads like a "Who's Who in Music." In addition to sharing the stage with such greats as India.Aire, Floetry, and Bilal, he's also done background work for Ludacris, and producers Jazze Pha, Rodney Jerkins, and LaShon Daniels. While Randevyn's career seemed to be on the fast track, The School of Life still had many lessons to teach him. After a series of setbacks, he was forced to take a 9-to-5 with the state of Georgia. His daily train commute served as the inspiration for SolTrain, his debut album.
"SolTrain represents a time in my life where I was getting to know myself and my environment. The long train rides gave me time to create and bring my music to life. I met lots of people and experienced many emotions in the subway that inspired me to write."
Randevyn teamed with Sincere Johnson - founder and president of Sin.J Entertainment, LLC - Clarence "Telee" Hill (of Tyler Perry's meet the Browns), Meko Thomas, PJ Morton and Tedd Wynn of Ted & Sheri fame to make SolTrain, a well-rounded album with bangin' soul beats, brilliant harmonies, and engaging lyrics."LaughNKry" takes us for a ride on the emotional roller coaster of a love relationship, while the enchanting "SupaNatural," has colorful melodies that remind us that love is still alive. SolTrain is a wonderful mix of old and new school R&B, soul, gospel and blues that gives voice to the urban experience. Let's join Randevyn on the journey.

author: A. AckersI have purchased 3 SolTrain albums. Anyone, no matter what race or background, can identify with the lyrics of this album. The harmonies alone will uplift your spirit. If you are into R&B or Soul music, you need to add this to your collection!

I simply want to say that this CD is so under-rated. I hate the fact that music in this country is so political, why don't we hear true artist like Randevyn on radio, this talented artist needs to be heard. I recommend & hope that everyone supports this brother, he is a True, rare talent who plays, writes, arranges and is a vocal power-house. I already bought my 4th copy...1 for the house, 1 for the car & 2 as gifts. I can't wait to see you live Randevyn, a friend of mine told me she saw you live in Atlanta and you are the truth. Much love & success to you my brother.
Finally getting his just due!
author: Terry GreshamPeople are finally beginning to recognize REAL soul singers again... coming from a vocalist/songwriter, I can tell you that this brother is definitely on the rise. Heard one of his songs on local radio recently so the word is getting out! Keep reaching...

I must say, I love this CD. One of the only CDs that I can just put in and listen to from the begining to the end without skipping any tracks. I can be driving, cleaning the house, hanging out with friends, I can always find myself in the mood to listen to some Randevyn. He sings with such emotion he makes me feel every song. And its not like todays R&B, he has important messages of love in relationships, love of one's self and mainly love for God. I suggest you all to support this new talent, I'm sure he will be around for the long run, hes to talented for him not to be. I was surprised to learn he is still a indie artist. Someone sign him so he can be big, we need some Randevyn in the industry.

On board of the SolTrain you'll hope that this ride never ends.
author: SaveOurSoulLet's wake up with street soul singer Randevyn and travel along with him westbound on his musical journey in "SolTrain" his debut album. This album contains seventeen tracks including the intro, two skits and a rap version of DearFarah. As soon as we get on board of "SolTrain" we learn in funky way way that part of Randevyn's legacy is hiphop, jazz, rap and rnb. We also notice that Randevyn is perfectly aware of what is going on in his environment and that he can capture a lot of different emotions in his songs. The key on this album is love yes, learn to love yourself. As is the case with so many great artists Randevyn must have layed his base for singing in Church. You'll come to this conclusion when you hear his wonderful gospel songs like "TruLuv" and " We Had A Talk". But gospel is only part of his legacy so we ain't going to limit him to this. In "Streetsol:Soundtrack of the ghetto featuring Cascius and Jahalla" you'll discover a completely different side of this artist. And what about "DearFarah". This catchy rnb love song might be one of the best love songs you've heard in a long time. It's a wonderful, straight from the heart composition. Anther jewel on 'SolTrain"is the song "MissinYou", with P.J. Morton on acoustic guitar accompanying the warm but yet sugar sweet vocals from Randevyn's voice that seem to come from a higher place. Once on board of "SolTrain" you'll hope that this lovely and unforgettable ride never ends.(TA)

A nice Introduction
author: SoulTracksSolTrain will be compared by many to Hamilton’s "Where I’m Comin From" – and there are similarities, particularly in Randevyn’s singing style - but it bears a more positive, spiritual message and is memorable in its own right. It is also a fine introduction to Randevyn, who could just be the next big from the Atlanta. To read entire review, visit http://www.soultracks.com/randevyn.htm
Time of change is finally here in 2005
author: LaToya LewisThank you for giving us the listeners a treat of orginial soul music we have been starving for. I personally grew tired of the music that shamed us as people. But on this album, I must say I became a proud parent without birthing rights. My prayer is that so many will follow, God bless this artist and his future to come. If this ad helps, I hope millions will buy. Keep singing, toast to the upcoming hitting 10 grammy awards soulful artist Randevyn.
So proud to know him!!
Ran's the man!!! (Yeah...I know that was corny!!) No, he really is a great guy, and it definitely shows through his music. I love the way a lot of the music comes from an atypical perspective, which is a blatent reflection of his true personality. I tend to favor the final third of the album, with TruLuv being my ultimate favorite!! I have bought a LOT of indie CDs from friends, and I can truly say that this one is one of the few that was definitely worth the investment! This project is not a mere showcase for a pretty voice, but it's also a master class in songwriting!! Like I always tell him, I KNOW he'll do well.
Simply put, SolTrain is So SolFul!
author: Jocelyn D.Vickers, Lady Di`/Bar-Red Ent. Grp.Do not sleep on this album! It is a CD for all to enjoy!

This is music that makes you one with your soul!! Simply amazing! Great job Randy!
The TRUTH!
author: CKBMusikYo, this is a display of true musicality and artistry. Randevyn has executed these songs with taste and appropriate "Genre-True" stylings.... Quality production...Great writing...... Overall - a GREAT, well thought out project......Quite refreshing for the musical palate...
- author: CD Baby
He has been called, "maybe the best Stevie Wonder followup ever, whether at CD Baby or not". Mixing up R&B soul, hip hop and colors of jazz and gospel harmony, Randevyn has a knack for blending up smooth urban tracks with both commercial and underground appeal. He claims his own influences as John Legend, Musiq, Peter Cetera, Donnie Hathaway, Sting, Kim Burrell and Carl Thomas but aside from the familiar qualities of his music, there is a definite touch all his own. In addition to sharing the stage with such greats as Floetry and Bilal, he's also done background work for Ludacris, and producers Jazze Pha, Rodney Jerkins, and LaShon Daniels. If you haven't heard of him yet, it's only a matter of time.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
author: JeremyNOW!!!! Let the Music Play... You are a true vocalist!!!!
