The Double-CD EPICYCLE is a classic treasure to me. I released it in 2001 and have rereleased it here, exclusively on CDBaby.
The Music:
Recorded exclusively on my "live-elektronik" gear, Epicycle is a fluid, often psychedelic journey through several distinct styles of elektronik music. It is a concept album inspired by the book "Second Earth Pentateuch Retold" by Patrick Woodrooffe. Telling the story only through music, EPICYCLE begins with more dance friendly beats to eventually experimental ambient. It is a rich and diverse landscape, highly charged with illusion.
How It Was Made:
I recorded all of EPICYCLE right off my live gear and onto 2 tracks on a hard drive. I did a few edits, mastered it and that's it. This, I believe, is why this Double-CD retains so much organic energy and patience. On the track "The Final Transmission" I actually fell asleep while I was recording and captured myself "sleep-jamming" and changing the music while I dreamed!
Many of the songs from EPICYCLE have been featured in internationaly distributed films, commercials, and television. Not to mention the literally hundreds of people that have used EPICYCLE as an intrinsic part of their yoga, massage, and therapy work and instruction.
I hope you enjoy EPICYCLE and thanks for supporting independent artists!

I heard Random Rab in San Francisco at the Ascension Party Fall 2004 and was OBSESSED with finding out how to hear MORE! Rab was nice enough to respond to my email (not a stalker- I swear!) and I have been a huge fan ever since! My friends love you too and I have made believers in all of them! Hope to see you in SF again!!

Absolutely beauty in it's own right...
author: Skoi Sirius
I first heard Rab at an Alex Grey celebration show in Portland, OR...and then met him randomly in Maui while on a little journey of my own. While I mainly heard Rab's second album before this after he had definitely matured and found his own sound - I truely have taken a serious love to this album...it's beautiful soundscapes with the banging bass that Rab can dish out.
If you love well crafted progressive electronic beats, then you should most definitely pick this album up!
