Album Notes

Random reflects the ongoing solo efforts of John Ingram. Originally formed in 1997, Random was an outlet for the workings of vocalist/bassist, John Ingram. After the break up of his band he began to concentrate more on the project and released the original ..suddenpixeldeathsyndrome... EP in the summer of 1997. The original EP consisted of seven avante garde industrial tracks, but was later expanded to the full length ..suddenpixeldeathsyndrome... which topped out at 16 tracks, and was released in March of 1998. Then the project was abandoned in favor of the electronic rock endeavor under the solo nomenclature, John Ingram. In November of 1999, the project reappeared with the release of Automaton Death Squad, a brief, but intensely brutal collection of aggro industrial tracks. After an accidental exposure to the Icelandic band, Sigur Ros, John reassessed the purpose of the project and began delving in computer based composition, taking a much more subtle and minimal approach. The result was the February 2001 release, Denouement. Denouement marked a very drastic change of direction for the band; nine tracks ranging from minimal downtempo and trip hop to a bizarre attempt at trance. Following the release of Denouement, John fell into a slump of non-production which has resulted in the forming and dissolving of several bands and collaborations. 2003 saw the return of Random, with the Crawl EP, an 8 song remix single featuring three brand new Random songs plus 5 remixes of the title track. Crawl marked a noticible refinement in songwriting and sound crafting that was merely the beginning of a seamless meld of John's older freeform rock styling and his newer electronic creations, with a newfound penchant for hip hop beats. Currently there is much frenetic activity in the studio preparing for the release of With Our Eyes On the Future.
