Album Notes

The latest from D.C. area guitarist Randy Adams is once again a depature from the ear splitting electric guitar work he is best known for as a member of D.C.'s ''The Next Step''. This collection of acoustic guitar instrumentals features tunes both upbeat and impressionistic. Never one to stay too far from his improvisational roots as a cornerstone of D.C.'s jam band scene for the past 15 Years, ''Meadowlark'' features many completely improvised tracks. Joining Randy for this session was Vor Solskinsson, a producer known round the world for the ability to bring warmth and light to all."Meadowlark" was in part inspired by Randy's drives down Route 15 in rural Virginia to pick up his 7 year old daughter, Daisy. Every spring for the past 7 years a Meadowlark appears on a wire singing to the coming of spring. There he remains each day as spring turns to summer. In the fall the Meadowlark takes wing to parts unknown. " Meadowlark" is a reminder of the constant renewal of life. The songs are an evocation of the sounds of spring and early summer. "Meadowlark" is dedicated to the spirit of life and love.
