This Album is a blend of roots and classic rock styles, mostly from the sixties and seventies. It doesn't imitate anyone in particular. It's strong on songwriting and guitar playing. It's very lyrical, covering a wide range of emotions and styles.

Album Notes

"Silver Linings and High Heels" is a kind of fantasy about a rock band in the old days, writing songs about a wide variety of feelings, styles and observations on life. It accompanies a book I wrote, called, "The Bearded Babe" all about a rock band that has been together forever and finally gets known. The book is finished and is coming out soon. I think it shows a lot of the people who have influenced me from the time I was very young: singers, guitar players, songwriters and bands, mostly from the sixties and seventies, but also from the fifties and eighties, but it doesn't really imitate anyone in particular. It's sort of like the album I would have put out if I would have had the chance back at that time. I feel really good about these songs; I think they're very strong, and the guitar playing on it is some of the best and most committed that I've ever done. I'm not trying to be overtly commercial; these songs are simply what I need to say right now.
