Album Notes

I love Randy Maez’s new CD. He is truly a multi-gifted artist who can write, compose, sing and play. Along with his band, Four on the Floor, he has carved out his own distinctive musical voice. All of the songs on this CD are well constructed but with all of the energy of improvised music. I really liked the variety--most of the songs made me want to get up and dance but one of them, My Blue Angel, was very reflective and made me think about the preciousness of life. I have seen Randy Maez and Four on the Floor perform live three times and each time I was blown away by their cohesion and energy which always brings the crowd to its feet. The CD captures the energy of their live performances. I think people who appreciate original music will love this CD as much as I did. – Alexis Miles
