Ras Berhane Bio
Ras Berhane was born Richard Thomas in the town of San Fernando on the Carribean
island of Trinidad. His musical influences include Curtis Mayfield, Bob Marley, Lee Scratch
Perry, the Beatles, Parliament-Funkadelic, James Brown, Bob Dylan, and Richie Havens.
Ras Berhane was called to music at an early age. He has played in several bands,
performing as a lead or background vocalist, guitarist, as well as playing percussions and
bass. His music is spiritual, enlightening, as well as socially conscious.
He is presently serving the Messiah Haile Selassie 1st, as a musical bodhisattva, helping
to inspire the sincere to finding their life's purpose and trying to assist in the alleviation of
suffering. he can often be found under beautiful trees playing his acoustic guitar and
singing of justice and victory of good over evil.
