"Raskolnikov dreamed a terrible dream. He dreamt that he was a child again, back in the little town they used to live in. He was a boy of seven, walking one holiday with his father outside the town. The afternoon was gray and sultry, the place just as he remembered it, except that the dream was more vivid than his recollection."

"This is the beginning of RaskolnikovΒ’s Dream, both an excerpt from DostoevskyΒ’s Crime and Punishment and a the name of a very ambitious electronica project out of Greece. The project consists of one man who calls himself, appropriately, Raskolnikov. Based on his first official release, Uriel, Raskolnikov isnΒ’t a DJ so much as an electronic soundsmith. Thirteen tracks compose here a rich sonic mixture of IDM, ambient, industrial, and several other near-retro electronic genres."

Raskolnikov's Dream is a melodic electronica project from Greece, born after years of experimentation with all kinds of music forms and technology. Thus far, the result is one album, Uriel. The pieces are a mixture of ambient, IDM, downtempo, big-beat, synth-pop and my own special taste :)

Tha name was inspired by Raskolnikov, the main protagonist in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment. In the first part of the book (the crime), Raskolnikov has a terrible dream. I was inspired by this most graphic scence in the book, to give this name to my project. I hope that this name can describe the sounds I make :)
