ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
ARTIST: Ras Spliff
ALBUM: WE SHALL MAKE IT
MUSICAL COMPOSER: Ras Iauwata
RELEASED (USA): November 2nd, 2005.

“WE SHALL MAKE IT” is a collectors item, to be purchased, played and enjoyed for ages.
WE SHALL MAKE IT, represents a collective spiritual, socio-economic and political affirmation of Africans – domiciled and down pressed by the system of Babylon (Euro-America). This is evident as one listens tracks: 6. CHANT DOWN BABYLON; 7. ISRAEL; 8. JAH CHILDREN. This CD is representative of the cry of the voiceless and disempowered African diaspora and the Continent of Africa.
This harmonious musical production is a pro-active symbol of the Rastafari Community and Our suffering African majority, now languishing throughout the inner city ghettos of New York/USA, the Caribbean/the Americas. Emblematic of this reality are tracks 3. LIFE OF A GHETTO CHILD; 4. GHETTO YOUTH; 5. WE BE CRYING; 12. KILL OR BE KILLED.
Ras Spliff’s production is ecologically conscious of the environmental catastrophe of a SUNAMI, and political injustice of an unanswered 911 (GROUND ZERO) aftermath. In fact, Ras Spliff and his son were direct victims and witness at ground zero of the 911 fiasco. He thus rightly asks: “…Who is the hero at Ground Zero?...” And answers prophetically: “…One day we will overcome!” “…Let us all come together so we can overcome.”
Noteworthy is the key musical composition input of Ras Iauwata. He is a world renown musicologist and atomic gem of the Rastafari Community. He is to be credited with the harmony and harpsichord vibes flowing from this production. The musical gamut of his genius and engineering abilities (gift) can be heard in the admixture of Rock Steady rhythms (Tracks: 1. HIT UP; 2. GROUND ZERO) and Reggae presented.
The artistic combination of these two Guyanese Rases – collectively and actively represents, We The People; WE SHALL MAKE IT! Listen and enjoy. Rastafari.
