notes

Voted "Best Celtic Rock Band of 2006" in the 2nd Annual Celtic MP3s Music Magazine audience poll, RATHKELTAÍR (pronounce rath-KELT-ur) delivers one of the most exciting, audience-friendly shows you will see anywhere.

It's hard to put RATHKELTAÍR into one specific genre or format, but you could loosely describe it as Celtic Rock Jam Fusion. Listeners searching for a basis upon which to compare hearing RATHKELTAÍR for the first time refer to a wide spectrum of influences, everything from Widespread Panic and Jethro Tull to The Chieftains.

Released on St. Patrick's Day, 2006, EVERYBODY features original songs by Trevor Tanner and Neil Anderson, rockin tune sets, and incredible foot-stomping energy.

"Somehow this band makes it seem like whatever is going on musically is the most natural thing on earth, even though this is something many long-time bands in the genre never manage to achieve." -C.L. Tully, Celtic MP3s Music Magazine

  • Midnight Delight!
    author: Viv Adams

Stumbled on these guys, wide-awake after graveyard mailsorting, letting the universe deliver and all that...and she did! Pipes speak straight to your spine and the lyrics, vocals, drums, and guitars pick up the pulse nicely. Sweet, raw, red-hot come white-hot mix inspires Great Art! Thanx, Viv (N.Z.)

  • Best band at Riverbend
    author: Stray

Rathkeltair was the best live band at this summer's Riverbend Festival and their music moved me so much, I made my first actual CD purchase in five years. Incredible musical ability and a great storyteller's awareness - even if you normally don't purchase CDs, buy this one right now!

The band who played before you had never heard you. I told them to hold on to their hats. the band began & their jaws dropped! everyone went wild . It was the most impressive display I have seen in a long time. We need a new cd! get to it & become rich as if you d it people will buy !!!

  • Everybody

I cannot find words to describe seeing these people Live, which I was able to this past weekend in Greensboro, NC. One of the band's profiles, I read this morning, includes the fact that their piper was called away to serve in Iraq in 2006. Everyone hung together, and I Am Here to Tell You, if you see this band live, You Will Never, Ever forget it. People were crying. They're That Great. Thanks!

  • they're close

I like it...but it's impossible to measure up to their live show. See this band live!!! I will absolutely buy their next cd because I think it will be GROUND BREAKING. These guys are the real deal. They brought tears my eyes last year in Albany...I stood spellbound, my mouth hanging open. I'm a sucker for bagpipes (combined with guitar w/a wha wha pedal?! I love it!) so I plan on this band being "my" band for decades to come. PLEASE come back to upstate NY guys!...ASAP

  • I was dumb founded

Saw the band in Jax beach. I was hooked on the first note. These gents have talent to spare. Being a proud Scot. I thought that I had heard the pipes played before. I was wrong! I cant wait to seee them at Lynch's again

  • simply great

I am happy (and lucky) to have found your CD. I like TT music (since Bolshoi days)-and as well I like Rathkeltair folk rock. It rocks and let you be on the Highlands...

  • You Rock!! Literally!!!
    author: Diane

We were fortunate enough to experience your music for the first time at the Virginia Scottish Games on September 15, 2007. What an amazing show! "Everybody" hasn't come out of my CD player since that day! We can't wait for you to come back next year -- and we hear that they are planning on a two day event! Love your musical creativity!!!

  • Saw them during Jax, Florida Irish Festival - amazing!
    author: Scott West

Saw Rathkeltair at a Irish Festival in Jax, Florida. THEY ARE OFF THE CHAIN!!! Played many songs from "Everybody", which I immediately bought at the festival. I CRANK Fermoy Lasses/Farewell to Erin in my TT and people ask what CD I'm playing! Can't wait for them to come back home to Jax and rock Lynch's Pub on July 20-21st!

  • Awesome!
    author: LeAnne

I bought this CD for my husband and we both love it. We first saw Rathkeltair at the VA Highlands Festival a couple years ago and loved the show! We hope you guys come back to the festival this year!!

  • worth searching the web for.
    author: Domingo Antonio Becerra

the music in general is great, the pipes seem to transport you directly to an open air scottish concert. It was worth searching the web for. two thumbs up for independent music.

  • Great CD!!!!!!1
    author: Suzi

I heard Rathkeltair for the first time at the Celtic Festival in Valley Forge, PA this past February...they were so great I bought BOTH the Live CD and Everybody...it is one of the best CD's I have heard! I raved about it to a friend of mine, who bought it the next day and also loves it! :-)

  • One of the best bands ever
    author: Chet Williamson

Rathkeltair is one of the best bands ever. Trevor's masterful songwriting and guitaring are worth it alone, but Neil's pipes and whistles are surely a national, no, world treasure by now. Hearing them live, I always think this is what it must have felt like to sit in a club and listen to Charlie Parker. And Neils' song America is one of the finest patriotic songs I've ever heard. Get this CD!

  • "...best CD of my life..."
    author: Kaysi

Well, I have loved this CD since I bought it in April, but as far as this review goes -- I bought it for my friend Ashley for Christmas, and a few hours after I gave it to her, she sent me a text message that said, "Can you say best CD of my life?" :-) We would highly recommend it!!

  • A mastery of celtic rock and highland fusion
    author: LydiaH

Even better than their live CD! Rathkeltair outdid themselves again! You've got to have this CD. Everything rocks and you can't get better than Neil's pipes and Trevor's lyrics!

  • almost as good as seeing them live
    author: Heidi

I saw this band live at a wine festival in Sunbury, PA and the cd does a pretty good job at recreating it. The music is incredible - I've never heard head-banging bag pipes before! Very high energy and needs to be played LOUD Enjoy!

  • Addicting and thoroughly professional
    author: DeniseA

Outstanding lyrics and rhythms. The variety of songs take you from the Highlands of Scotland to a movie soundtrack mix. I was verra impressed. This one better than the "live" CD!!

  • Amazing!!
    author: SueO

This is my new fave CD! I absolutely love it and cannot get enough of this band! This cd mixes traditional Celtic sounds with a great "rock" backdrop...simply amazing! Get it,don't hesitate~

  • Thanks Rathkeltair!
    author: Harrison

I love listening to this album. I can listen to it all the way through and I like that a lot of the songs are longer. I can't wait to see these songs live!

  • Awesome CD!!!!!
    author: WickedCelt

I've been a huge Rathkeltair fan since day 1...they just keep getting better. I love this CD and the additions of Pete and Victor are truly wonderful. I also really love the fact that Nick does lead vocals on one of the songs. I'm already looking forward to seeing what the guys have in store next!!!

  • I love it!
    author: Maurice Frank

I really loved Rathkeltair's first LIVE CD. This new CD is even better. It has several great instrumentals, but my favorite track is Trevor's Back in the Day -- great guitar and pipe riffs. And I agree they are a dynamic band to hear live.

  • Neil and Trevor have outdone themselves!!
    author: Jackie

This CD is a must have for the Rathkeltair fan. The boys have outdone themselves on this one. As a Scottish-American my celtic soul was deeply touched and by the last track AMERICA I was weeping with love for Scotland,America and MY FREEDOM. If you havn't seen Rathkeltair perform live you are missing a truly great experience...they bring down the house!!

  • author: :-) Rob

Bellissimo anche questo secondo CD. Mi immagino come sarebbero dal vivo alcune di queste canzoni: trascinanti come le canzoni di "Live". Lo fate un pensierino di venire a suonare in Italia???

  • Excellent!
    author: Ron

Excellent CD! Rathkeltair rocks. If you get a chance to see them live... do it, its a great show.

  • Outstanding
    author: Terry

Thank you so much, this is truly a special CD and absolutely wonderful from start to finish.

  • Awesome...simply awesome!
    author: Jimmie J

"Everybody" rocks- great energy, great vocals, kickass songwriting, and Neil's bagpipe adds pure THUNDER. If you get a chance to see these guys live, GO FOR IT! They never disappoint! This disc has stayed on the player since I got it- it's a "must-have" for Celtic rock fans.
