About Jamie Rattner
Hailing from New York City, art-rocker and poet Jamie Rattner's edgy and confessional songs at the piano have earned her comparisons to writer, Anne Sexton and associations with singers like Trent Reznor and Kate Bush. Her newest album is sold in a set with a booklet of her poetry;the package is titled Within
Testimony to this songstress' carefully penned songs Jamie was recently named Runner Up for Song of the Year in an international songwriting competition for VH-1's Save The Music Foundation, a success that was quickly followed by an Honorable Mention in American Songwriter Magazine's November/December issue for their own reputable contest.
By the age of 24, Jamie has appeared on TV, had impressive airplay on 100+ stations & had a CD produced by Tim Bruhns (Holly Palmer,Ellis Paul). Her dramatic performance style continued to develop at the prestigious Berklee College of Music where she studied with the teachers of Aimee Mann & Paula Cole to name a few. She has gone on to stir audiences from her home in NYC to Europe where her literary, artistic style has found great appreciation.
Performing both solo and with her band featuring Tony Calabro on drums and Drew Thurlow on bass, Jamie Rattner's intense full-length debut and gripping live show are not to be overlooked.

Jamie Rattner is by far one of the most incredible singer/songwriters I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Mind you... I include in this category the likes of Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Melora Creager (Rasputina). I hope to watch Jamie continue to grow and blossom into an elite member of the underground monarchy.
