After almost five years out of the game, Raven Music is back pioneering its trademark style of Hi-NRG dance and infectious melodies. An edgier production, Attack! also heralds Raven’s unique ‘heavy dance’ method, melding metal and dance together for some truly earth-shattering tracks (see track breakdown below).
Incorporating live guitar and an electronica mix that is both eclectic and original, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more unique release this year.
Track Breakdown:
1) Raven Theme — An introduction to the madness within, Theme is just the beginning…
2) Shake It — Like the title, this mix of metal and melody is sure to get you movin’. With some of the catchiest vocal samples on the whole album and fearsome guitar-work, it’s dance like you’ve never heard it before.
3) Creep — 'The' heavy-dance anthem. Combing a soaring Prophet synth-line with a rock-hard bottom end, Creep is essentially two tracks in one. Epic.
4) Lift — If you want to get that party rockin’, send this through your speakers. Featuring a super-heavy breakdown and infectious leads, this is one song that'll lift you up.
5) Sorry — Sorry drops the 4/4 in favour of something a little more down-tempo. With one of the widest appeals on the album, this is definitely a track that appeals to all tastes.
6) Vertigo — Exotic trance from the furthest reaches of the psyche, Vertigo also includes trippy tapping lines and monster build-ups. Don’t forget the surprise finale…
7) Kick It — Minimalist rock meets dark-style in a mashed-up mix of hypnotica. Tune it, sit back and listen to those super-synths soar!
8) One — A house-esque blend of vocal hooks and synth-pop make this number one of the most accessible on this release.
9) Thriller — A lost track discovered after the original masters were stolen in 2005, Thriller is a fast-paced journey to the future riding on the production of old. Be sure to check out the killer break-beat/metal conclusion.
10) Contortion — Hard-house at its skull-crushing finest. Fusing tribal trance with heavily processed 303s, if this doesn’t get your toe tappin' away, nothing will.
11) Vanilla Ice — Taking the tempo down a step, this track is icy-cold. Haunting and melodic all at once, it is a tale told by twin guitars.
12) Switch — Get your blood pumpin’ with Switch. A blockbuster of big beats and melodic hooks, it takes power trance and blows it out the water.
