RAVI (www.HeyRavi.com), an artist whose credits span from the dives of Manhattan to the Oval Office, tours the country performing original "well-crafted pop/rock" and, as a consultant, lecturing on crucial issues facing the music industry. The singer-songwriter and guitarist originally from New York City--now residing in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia--has appeared on Letterman, Leno, Saturday Night Live, Today Show, Good Morning America, etc., and has performed at the most prestigious venues including Madison Square Garden, Louisiana Superdome, and a White House Christmas Party.
The "crème de la crème" of the entertainment industry frequently calls on Ravi. Mercury Records/PolyGram hired him in 1997 to play guitar with three-time Grammy nominee Hanson (the top selling band in the world that year). Simon & Schuster published his tour journal/autobiography. Electronic Musician, Onstage, and Musician magazines feature Ravi's articles, and his column "Pure Profit" appears each month in Music & Sound Retailer. Berklee College of Music, Pepperdine University, and others including NAMM and most music business conferences host his lectures. Most recently, the world's largest guitar and piano manufacturer, SMC (Samick Music Corp.), sought him out to represent Greg Bennett Guitars as the brand's national electric guitar clinician.
With professional endorsements & business savvy, Ravi has released two CDs independently and toured the USA and Europe twice for CD, book signings, and product clinics; as well as performing with his band.
In 2000, Ravi initiated a program with the United Nations - creating large-scale music concerts to raise funds for the UN Youth Unit. Two years later he created and ran a music enrichment program for homeless children in New Orleans. In 2004, Ravi started two web sites and newsletters spearheading efforts to create a "Culture of Integrity" in the arts community and in society in general: www.CultureofIntegrity.org, and www.ArtisticIntegrity.org.
Ravi, of Indian and German descent (and grand nephew of India's first Prime Minister, Nehru), was born in Washington, DC. He grew up in a "Wall Street" family (his two older brothers and father worked in finance), but Ravi traveled down a very different road.

Awesome music, awesome person

I met Ravi at a music conference recently, and he seemed like a really cool and smart guy. I figured his CD might convey the same thing, and it does! The songs are so intellegently written but really easy and nice to listen to. It's great meeting an artist who has the ability to convey his love for life and art through his music. Makes me feel great everytime I listen to it.

Good stuff

I like the CD, but was hoping for more guitar solos and extended band jams like at the live show. Still, songs are songs and there are plenty of good ones on this disc.

Awesome songs and awesome band! Definitely the best rendition of "Imagine" I ever heard. Ravi's a talented songwriter and singer...a great listen from beginning to end, rare to find that in a CD these days!
