Album Notes

Raw Daddi was born in the Bay Area but grew up in Maryland. He first started rapping in 1987 while in the seventh grade. His first performance was a junior high talent show. He wrote a rhyme about: being in junior high, the school, the trials and tribulations, the teachers, and the students. His older brother (Sekou the Misfit) produced the track on his Casio keyboard. After his performance, he received a standing ovation from the school, and it was a hit. This was his start and he has been rockin the mic ever since. While in Maryland, he also became good friends with Douglas Masters who would later met up again with him on the west coast.

When Raw Daddi graduated from high school he moved back to Oakland, and attended college at CCAC. During his time back in the bay, he hooked back up with childhood friends Rotten Robbie and Roc who were doing music as well, and was introduced to new bay area friends Dundada and DJ Descend. He released 2 albums in the late 90’s on Lionz Den Entertainment; “Touch" in 97 and "Insomnia" in 99 both with Dj Descend handling the production. A couple of years later, he decided to move to Los Angeles. His main reason was to be closer to his family, such as his older brother who was becoming a well known slam poet, and to pursue a career in music and art.

With his new Komplex Records album entitled "Less is More", he teamed back up with his bay area friends and of course his older brother Sekou the Misfit for production. His goal in doing this, and what he feels he has achieved, is best project he has done yet. This time the subject matter consists of more mature topics such as drugs, relationships, sex, and life. Everything he has done in music has prepared him for this album and this new experience. Being a part of Komplex Records and to be surrounded with so many talented individuals has inspired him. Even though he has been performing, and working on music for years, he now feels like this is just the beginning.
