Album Notes

Ray started playing on the UK North London folk scene in the late sixties at the legendary Enfield Folk Club and was writing songs pretty much immediately from then on. He's appeared at various infamous London venues such as Bunjies and The Troubador. He flirted briefly with Traditional English Song during a period of residency at the Hoddesdon Folk Club where he became a mascot for the Hoddesdon Crownsmen dancers. Resulting from this was a brief tour of Norway in 1981 with TV and Radio appearances and also in the UK at several major festivals - Cambridge, Towersey, Village Pump and many folk clubs. For a while he worked with Keepers Lock doing (and writing) songs about canals with again TV and Radio appearances.

"On Parole" is Ray's only album so far although he's in the process of selecting songs for a new album. His songs have been recorded by other artists such as 'Artisan'. Ray is now working with Diana Johnstone on a regular basis, appearing at various venues with their show about songwriters.
