Album Notes

RayRAy, born Laray Thomas, is a Portland-based performer and Recording artist known for combining a fresh trend-setting style with throwback and retro steez.
Adept at rapping and Singing (he’s been called Portland’s greatest “Sapper”...meaning singer and rapper!), Laray has made a splash in a few subgenre’s of Hip-hop and R&b, but in 2009 he cannonballed his way into the Jerk Movement with his internet-Hit Song “High Top Fade”. Seattle movie Producer joel nelson teamed up with Rayray’s music teacher to produce a Polished Music video for the song (Released May 2010), which has been an instant hit on Youtube.
Rayray developed his art and cut his teeth in the music industry through his work at NE Portland’s Phoenix Studio Recording Arts Training Program at Helensview School. Graduating in the class of 2010. Rayray has had the remarkable opportunity to Connect with and study under industry professionals including Slimkid3 (Pharcyde), Rick Clifford (Grammy Award Winning Engineer), and many of Portland’s top Working musicians. At the Phoenix Studios, Rayray earned skill certificates in Lyrics and Songwriting, Audio Engineering, and Music Management. And on top of that he has completed the recording of his first EP.
