Album Notes

THE RAZORBLADES

THE RAZORBLADES come from an area in Germany, where no ocean is in sight and the sun don´t shine too much. Despite these difficult circumstances all four members of the band love surfmusic and they thought "Let´s give it a try, we can work it out without the sun and the ocean". So in early 2002 the young musicians

ROB RAZORBLADE lead guitar
ROCCO RAZORBLADE rhythm guitar
RIZZO RAZORBLADE bass guitar
ROMEO RAZORBLADE drums

started to rehearse and write songs. Influenced by Dick Dale and modern bands as Slacktone, The Mermen and Jon & The Nightriders they play surf music for the 21st century:
dynamic, powerful and full of Twang. After 6 month they recorded their first CD "Get Cut By The Razorblades" (which will be out on Surf Wave Records in September 2003) and started to play live shows. On their search for the missing ocean, they toured all over germany, met colleagues as SLACKTONE and FIFTY FOOT COMBO in dark, smoky clubs and were received very well by audiences, critics and fellow surf musicians.
Look out for THE RAZORBLADES, when they come to your town!

Here´s what other people said about them:

PHIL DIRT (Reverb Central)
Fast and furious aggressive modern surf loaded with fire and glissando mayhem, and fronted by a strong melody line and a large supply of energy! Totally cool and rambunctious. Great drums, solid bass, and electric fire in the guitar. It's also very nicely produced.

DAVE WRONSKI (Jon & The Nightriders, Slacktone)
Great CD! Really a great job! I'm very impressed with the playing of the whole band.

DUSTY WATSON (Dick Dale, Slacktone)
Really good. I listened to it a couple of times and it rocks!

MIKE VERNON (3 Balls Of Fire)
I really love your CD!

SAM BOLLE (Agent Orange, Slacktone)
It really kicks ass! The songs are really well thought out and very good melodies and arrangements! Great job!!

BART LE ROUGE (Fifty Foot Combo)
I think you can be proud of it. Good songs, good recordings.

The level of technical skill, the power of the songs as a whole, the dominant fast pace... this is a golden entrance to modern surf rock, and more specifically The Razorblades. This album offers you everything a future classic should, and more. After listening to this one you'll want to buy their entire discography and end up depressed and wanting for more, as I did. Clear production, good musicians, great melodies, tight drums, a refreshingly present bass guitar... it's as ''surf'' as the perfect wave.
