Album Notes

Mystery Guitar- the latest release by veteren Chicago musician Rockin Billy, is a watershed amidst a long and varied career. While raised on the blues,he spent time backin Lefty Dizz at the notorious "Checkerboard lounge" as wellas being a fixture in the Maxwell st. music scene.

During the mid 1980s punk days he fronted the X-men and the Sponge.Playing with the likes of Big Black, the Effigies and Naked Raygun. Years spent living and playing in Nashville, Memphis, and Texas influenced his sound as of late.

with albums produced By Steve Albini to his credit, and gigs performing with such notables as B.B. King (and a church performance at Al Greens in Memphis). He has earned the reputation as one of Chicagos top guitar slingers.

This lates release mines the rich musical viens of surf instrumental, 50s style country, and rhythm and blues filtered through the "no holds barred" lens of this musical visionary.
