ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rhonda Bennett is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. She has been working on her music career since the age of 6 when she began piano lessons. Guitar lessons followed a few years later. In 1990 she was introduced to Tony Burton, who would become her songwriting partner. "Tony and I have a great friendship, and our songs naturally come together." "I have been blessed to have him in my life....typically Tony writes the music to my lyrics, and it just flows like magic."

Rhonda's songs all tell a story. She writes from the heart and can make you laugh and cry in the same song. "Music has been my friend and gotten me through the best and worst times of my life. My dream is to be a part of the soundtrack of our times." "The wonderful thing about music is that there's room for everyone...and no age limit!"

After a lifetime of playing in cover bands, Rhonda finally debuted her original songs at a cozy place in Westchester County, New York called the Ardsley Ale House. "That night was a dream come true", she remembers, "to finally be playing my songs in front of a huge room full of people, it was surreal. Singer/songwriter and incredible guitarist, Brian Christopher, accompanied me on guitar and provided backing vocals. He really knew how to interpret and add the right amount of "punch" to my songs." After that initial performance, Rhonda went on to begin recording the tracks for this CD.

Rhonda is currently back in Indianapolis after a few years in southern California. Her plans are to continue writing, recording and performing live. Check out her MySpace page at www.myspace.com/RhondaLBennett.

Rhonda was recently chosen to participate in a project for Ground Control - Indianapolis Rockers for Life 2007. This project is a drunk driving prevention campaign that uses music to reach teens at the high school and college level. 20 bands/artists from major cities are chosen to contribute one of their songs to a compilation CD that is distributed to high schools, colleges, records companies, etc. Bands are showcased in drunk driving prevention events. She is very honored to be chosen for this project. Check out more at on myspace link www.myspace.com/RhondaLBennett. Contact for info on how to purchase this double CD project.

I love your songs!
I have always loved your music, and I know you put your heart into every song. You helped me through some tough times when I was in college and we worked at Deer Creek together. It's a good thing you're a counselor too! And I'm so glad you got to move to California cause I know how much you wanted to be there. You're RAD!

Love your sound!
Caught you on myspace from Keith Howland's comments and such. Love your midwestern sound, so cool that you and that guy Tony Burton write so well together. You're a really great team. I'm buyin!

Indiana Transplant Writes Songs From The Heart
This demo from the Indiana transplant is an extremely well produced tape that has three songs that come from the heart. Rhonda's got a contemporary adult sound that reminds me of the old Linda Ronstadt except not as country, this is definitely pop. The first song "When Love Comes To An End" is a touching tribute to her father after the divorce from her mother with tasteful guitar licks filling the void throughout. Track two "Spider Web", has more of a seductive edge to it as Rhonda shows some of her versatility in songwriting and vocally as well. The last song, "What Happened To Your Dreams" is a dynamic piece that grooves along. Rhonda's voice and music is somewhat similar to K.D. Lang's but decidedly different with her own style. Rhonda has been songwriting since age 10 and has even collaborated on songs with Jimmy Ryser who is a studio player for another Indiana musician - none other than John Mellencamp. Give this midwestern beaute a chance and check her out. - Brian O'Rourke

Incredible Singing and Songwriting from a REALLY Longtime friend
Rhonda writes so personally about her life...for us friends it's no surprise who she's writing about. Her two songs that are written about her dad "When Love Comes To an End" and "Highway Cowboy" are emotionally wrenching for me and for others I'm sure. It is so obvious she's influenced by her heroes John Denver, the Eagles, Dan Fogleberg and Kenny Loggins...because I know her as a friend I know how much she loves her music and wants to reach out to people. Go Rhonda!

Your songs just speak to me
