Robert Rodriguez Biography
Pianist/Composer, Robert Rodriguez was born on January 11, 1978 in New York City. Inspired by his father who is a drummer, Robert began to pursue music from a very early age. Robert studied piano and percussion at the New World School of The Arts and proceeded to achieve his bachelor's of music from the University of Miami. Through New world School of The Arts and the University of Miami, he was given the opportunity to perform with, Jerry Bergonzi, Jon Faddis, Kenny Weeler, and Maria Schneider. Robert has worked professionally with Ira Sullivan, Giovanni Hidalgo, Ed Calle, Ray Vega, Arturo Sandoval, Ray Barretto and has had the privilege of recording alongside Arturo Sandoval, Chick Corea, Steve Turre, Dave Samuels, and Claudio Roditti on a live concert entitled Jam Miami. Robert also recorded on some of the soundtracks to the HBO film "For Love or Country The Arturo Sandoval Story". In November 2002, Robert recorded on Arturo Sandoval's latest record, which was produced by Quincy Jones entitled "Trumpet Evolution". Robert's Debut CD which was co-led by brother Michael, featured all original music and has led them to play some major festivals including The JVC Jazz Festival and The Syracuse Jazz Festival. Robert has toured with Arturo Sandoval, and is currently with touring with Ray Barretto and the Rodriguez Brothers group.
Michael Rodriguez Biography
Trumpeter/composer, Michael Rodriguez was born on July 14, 1979 in Queens, New York. Like his brother Robert, Michael was also inspired to pursue music as a career by their father. Michael studied at the New World school of the Arts in Miami, Florida and continued his studies at the University of Miami. After completing two years at the University of Miami, he decided to transfer to the New School University in New York where he received his B.A. Michael has performed and toured with Pianist Eric Reed and has recorded on Reed's CD entitled "Happiness". Michael has worked with Clark Terry, Bobby Watson, Quincy Jones, Joe Lovano, Toshiko Akiyoshi Orchestra, Chico O'farill Orchestra, Lincoln Center Orchestra and has traveled with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, Carla Bley Band, Harry Conick jr., Lincoln center Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra, Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra and currently with The Charlie Haden Liberation Orchestra. In December of 2003 Michael recorded on Charlie Haden's latest recording featuring Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Joe Lovano. Both Michael and Robert currently reside in New York City.

Only way it could be better is if David Tames was playing. I met him at All-State in 1995--we were on First Part. He is the awesomest trumpet player in the world!

an outstanding effort

this is an outstanding effort by young men mature and talented way beyond there years. its a beautiful at times melodic recording. this cd should receive a lot of play time and print exposure it is a diamond in the rough and i want to hip as many people to it. it deserves industry recognition.
