Lights, camera, ROCK SHOW!

“Are you guys ready to start rockin’ the house?!” Uncle Rock asks the Kidtopia audience
at the beginning of Number 1 DVD. A cheer from kids, parents, and grandparents fills the Woodstock, NY, sound stage with a resounding YES. What follows is an exuberant, interactive and unapologetically rock and roll performance of Uncle Rock & the Playthings, featuring songs that have become Sirius/XM Satellite Radio staples and favorites in households and cars across the country.

In the "Live From Kidtopia" set, kids sing, shout and pogo-dance with abandon during the openers “Uncle Rock U.” and “Rock Out!,” pretend to snooze during “Playin’ Possum,” and spread their wings and fly during “Brand New Butterfly.” There is an interactive element to each song, where the audience becomes part of the performance; Uncle Rock invites families into the song.

In addition to the live concert, five videos are included in the “Video Arcade” portion of Number 1 DVD; an animated “Playin’ Possum” created by a thirteen-year-old, the environmentally-conscious “Polar Bear Over There,” the cross-cultural “Picnic In the Graveyard,” the anti-conspicuous-consumption “Too Many Presents,” and the one-take ode to downtime “Nothin’ Doin’.”

Number 1 DVD is an energetic, visually entertaining version of Uncle Rock’s lively, thoughtful, and sometimes offbeat message to kids and their parents. “Live from Kidtopia” is a truly rockin’ experience for both kids and adults, while “Video Arcade” is a trip through areas not usually explored in kids’ music, with unexpected treats along the way. So sit back, press PLAY, and come into the song with Uncle Rock.
