Album Notes

There comes a day in everyone’s life when they realize there must be more.

“Music was the only thing that took me there,” admits singer and guitarist Dustin W. “When push came to shove, music was the only thing left that seemed real.” It is this passion and love for music that brought the alternative rock band, Reality Addiction , finally together. All hailing from New Jersey, the band is comprised of Dustin Widofsky (Vocals/Guitars), Ben Antelis (Drums/Vocals), Sheep (Bass), and Robby Tal (Lead Guitar).

In the summer of 2007 the band released their first self-titled EP. The overwhelming response of the release drew CD sales from all over the country, and over 125,000 plays on their Myspace in a very short period of time. This past September 08' the band released their debut album "Maybe Now You'll Listen" which drew sales from around the globe.

Through performing at just about every club, bar, venue and street corner in Israel and the NY/NJ area, Reality Addiction has become a well known act. Along with being hired by a large range of colleges, festivals and parties, the band has moved up quickly with appearances that include: performing at Six Flags Over Georgia with Natasha Bedingfield, playing numerous other Six Flags theme parks around the country, performing with the chart-topping duo, Evan and Jaron (Crazy for this Girl) at the Schottenstein Cultural Center in Midtown Manhattan, playing at Rutgers University with Max Bemis of Say Anything, headlining a stage at the Bamboozle Festival, and many more.

In January '09 Reality Addiction entered into a well-known competition called The Break Contest. The contest consisted of 160 bands from New Jersey, all competing for the right to perform at The Bamboozle Festival in May. Three rounds and four months later, the guys found themselves at the Finals (being judged live) by some renown industry pros from places like Live Nation, Sirius/XM Radio, Rhapsody, 3 Doors Down, Doghouse Records, Killbrand Clothing and many more. Reality Addiction was chosen along with 15 other bands to advance to The Bamboozle Festival at the Meadowlands Sports Complex(Giants Stadium). This year Bamboozle was attended by over 35,000 people and featured artists such as No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, Third Eye Blind, Sum41, Boys Like Girls, Demi Lovato, Taking Back Sunday and many, many more.

I\'ve been waiting for this album since the EP. I was well worth the wait. Although I DO have my favorites on the album (that I won\'t list, because that is something very subjective, and I want people to decide for themselves), every song is done just so well. I love the violin parts added that weren\'t on the EP added so much to the music. They were just great. As other people have noted, Dustin\'s vocals are completely on the entire CD, and there is so much emotion in them that they pull you right into the music. I was surprised to hear Robby Tal soloing in a few songs, because I haven\'t heard him solo in anything until this album came out. The solos were amazing. Very tasteful and not overdoing it. The piano parts were great too, and I liked how they sometimes mimicked the guitars. Great job guys, you should be proud. Keep Rockin\'!

If you want to hear some great music, then Reality Addiction is the band for you. Maybe Now You’ll Listen, the bands debut album, is by far my favorite cd of the year. Yes, it is that good! Each and every song is so well written and I can not find a single one that would be considered filler. Dustin’s vocals are spot on throughout the entire cd. He just grabs your attention and makes sure you listen to the story he is telling. Also, the guitars, drums, harmonies, the lyrics, and everything are just incredible! With an album this good, it is hard to pick out favorite tracks. But I would have to say my favorites are Something Like That, People Die Building Bridges, A Sad Song, To Love Life, and The Story of You and I. This band has a bright future and I’m excited to watch and see where they go from here!
