Realizm Rekords have released a 17-track mixtape featuring some well-known and lesser known names from the underground hip-hop scene. With names including Immortal Technique, C Rayz Walz and Boot Camp Clik adding their weight to this collection heads should turn but it is not just these better known acts that bring the fire here. Grime’s hardcore treatise on weaponry, ‘Guns’ is worth checking while the accomplished Krazy Race also brings his brand of gravelly forthright hip-hop. Elsewhere Big Quarters and Emmanuel Ortiz deliver fire that the Wu-Tang would have been proud of and Truth talks on ‘Freedom.’ Lyrically, this set is intent on talking on the ills of the street-life rather than glorifying it as well as tackling political issues. With some strong Latino input added to the mix there are some Spanish language rhymes dropped into the primarily English mix. Underground stand up!

I bought this CD off this site and knew what to expect because of the samples it allowed me to play. But until I played it from beginning to end, then I realized truly how ILL this CD is!
Thanks for putting this out. Will there be a VOLUME 2?

This album has that taste of hip hop that blazes through the streets and points fingers at the system without losing the authenticity of a classic hip hop album. I've been waiting for a compilation like this for along time.....
