ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Real Jane Martin is an acoustic rock duo from Chicago, IL. Musician-songwriters Mark Burns and Allen Rein, friends since their days together at Actors Theatre of Louisville, formed TRJM in 2006. They can be seen playing all over Chicago, from rock clubs to acoustic coffee houses. Allen is a spotlight-loving singer while lead-guitarist Mark would be happiest performing with a bag over his head. They haven't broken up. Yet.

Good stuff
I've seen TRJM once live, and really enjoyed their show. The CD has a more polished sound, but brings that same great energy that makes their live show so good. Favorite tracks include Manhattan, Sweet Emily Brown and their signature song, Looking For Jane. I highly recommend checking this out.

Jane Martin is actually two dudes. Don't be fooled.
The two guys who make up The Real Jane Martin know a lot about making art, and they do so expertly on this debut. Lyrics, melodies, and arrangements all work together and take you from an outdoor concert type of vibe to a nighttime coffeehouse to a rainy day alone in your room during the course of one record. (Yeah, I still like to call them records.) My favorites are the rainy day alone songs, particularly the closing track, but the whole thing is good. Check out the tracks for yourself.
