Album Notes

"Rebecca Hart & the Sexy Children, Live at Joe's Pub" was recorded on February 15, 2009, at a sold-out gig called "The Morning After Show" (ie, day after Valentines Day). Rob Kendt played a solo opening set. The Sexy Chidren are as follows: Rebecca Hart (acoustic guitar, lead vocals), Dave Lott (lead guitar), Matt Epstein (bass), and Dan Barman (drums). The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Greg Tobler.

Rebecca Hart was born into a theatre family and made her first stage appearance at nine months old. Last year, she accidentally won a comedy competition in Dublin ,Ireland, while appearing as the musical guest (audience vote). Hart's much-lauded stage presence is part of what makes the Sexy Children live show a memorable experience. The band members also come from a long tradition of live, 'jam band' shows and are well at home in front of an audience. We wanted to make this recording to bring this experience to new fans and show them where we truly shine. This sold-out, joyous, noisy gig at NYC's most celebrated listening room is a perfect example of this band at its best -- the songs are coming through pure and clear and the energy in the room is palpable.
