Album Notes

Rebecca Hosking pours her heart into each track of the highly anticipated album, “Love and Other Disasters.” It is full of fun-loving Americana ditties that display her writing talents. Rebecca has a gift for telling stories with universal appeal and upbeat vibes. She displays unique but simple melodies that capture your attention. A proud example of her creativity is performed on the radio friendly hit single, “Robert Would Say” that celebrates the famous American Poet Robert Frost.

This eight track EP takes you on a journey of lost love, good love, and all the disasters that come along with it. The CD was produced by Scott Neubert and Dave Isaacs and was recorded at Smash Recording in Nashville Tennessee. These master musicians mix pulse pounding beats with Rebecca’s vibrant vocal stylings that resemble Gillian Welch and Emmylou Harris. Every great artist creates their own identity by studying their influences and paving their own path to success. These songs are a specific blend of bluegrass and Americana put together in a fresh fashion of her own.

Over the years Rebecca has been pounding the pavement of Music Row slowly but surely building the relationships that have catapulted her songwriting career to where it is today. Songs by the singer/songwriter have been heard on television and movies, such as the independent film Ariadne’s Thread and cataloged by Audiobrain for NBC to be aired on the 2008 Olympic Games coverage. She has also had cuts with independent artists such as, Good Souls, Rachel Farley, Sister Soul, Wendy Duffy and Steve Leslie along with numerous major label holds through Curb Rounder Records and many more.

So often now true songwriting is compromised for the attempt at the radio hit. This album comes from a songwriter's songwriter. Where the music is great, but the lyrics and intelligence of the writing puts it over the edge. I'm partial to Last Chance Cafe, Love and Other Disasters, Lost is Found, and The Hours for their clear stories and great melodies.
