What Others Are Saying About Rebecca

"One cannot help but be impressed with God's work of grace in Rebecca's life--preserving and healing her through many heartbreaks and personal crises. Reflected in her song is a confident sweetness, a creative artist reflecting the beauty of God and His work in her life and through her music. We appreciated Rebecca's variety of musical styles--perfect for an audience mixed in age".
Senior Pastor Martin Goode
Grace Gospel Church
5855 Valley Way, Niagara Falls, Ontario

"We want to thank both Peter & Rebecca for coming out on such short notice to our christmas celebration and for making the evening such a blessing for all of us at The Bridge Prison Ministry Transition House. The music was wonderful and we look forward to asking both of you back in the future!"
Mary Jackson
Bridge Program Director For Prisoners
Hamilton, Ontario

"It was a very nice time of sharing we had with Rebecca as she sang for us and played the piano very naturally and melodically. She sang a number that reminded us of the importance of the church in the life of the believer - it was our church anniversary at Stanley Avenue Baptist Church and we appreciated her sweet voice and gentle way of relating to us. I would encourage you to hear her CD's as well; the flute music works its way into one's imagination in a flash. We wish her every blessing of the Lord in seeking to reach out to those who are heartbroken as she ministers the hope she has encountered in Jesus Christ. "
Thanks Peter for hanging in there!
God bless
Stanley Ave Baptist Church

"Rebecca's music is haunting and lyrical as it touches the depths of the spirit!"
Kathy Hogman
Pastor of Saint Andrews Church

"A revolution fought with love, I sense this revolution through the ecstasy experience (goose bumps), I get from Rebecca's voice and song"

TRAGEDY TO VICTORY

Rebecca lost three brothers to suicide, and her mother to liver disease. These losses have profoundly shaped her. A burden is on the hearts of both Peter and Rebecca to reach out to others. Their message is very clear, "Choose LIFE".

Both Peter and Rebecca have lost love ones to suicide and understand the struggles people face with mental illness. Their ministry is focused on two areas:

SUICIDE PREVENTION - (Public awareness of the problem of suicide).

BREAKING THE STIGMA OF BI-POLAR MENTAL ILLNESS.

Rebecca was diagnosed in 1997 with bipolar mental illness. But, through the grace of God, and the work of the ministry God has given her to, she has risen above her illness. By trusting in God and believing that in spite of her disability, she can live a normal life. She uses her musical talents and gifts to bless and encourage others with disabilities to go on with their lives, no matter what struggles or difficulties they may face.

Peter & Rebecca are providing Suicide Prevention & Bi-Polar Mental Illness awareness resources along side of other local agencies in the city of Hamilton.

YEARS OF FAITH & MUSIC MINISTRY

Rebecca, at the age of seven, accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior, and started her faith relationship with God. She also started to play her piano at the age of seven. She has mixed these two worlds together in her song-writing ever since. To name but a few things Rebecca has done as a young person, she was a Councilor, and a Music Director at various camps in the province of Ontario. Rebecca was also involved as a missionary sent to work in an Egyptian orphanage, and has done missionary work in Canada, at a Saskatchewan Native camp. Her faith has reached out to a variety of needs in various communities, everything from troubled youth to seniors homes across Canada. Rebecca's passion to see others healed fuels her onward in this ministry she and her husband Peter are committed to as faithful servants of God.

YEARS OF RECORDING AND ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT

Besides playing keyboards and singing, Rebecca plays her family of recorders in a haunting captivating style all her own. She also has recorded 15 CDs and a multitude of music video. She has designed 11 of her CD covers with her fine Art and Photography skills. Also Rebecca has written an 86 page book of Poetry, that is avaiable on her website. Rebecca and her husband Peter are co-authoring a book entitled "Episodes Inside The Mind of Mania", expected to be published in the summer of 2010.

REBECCA'S STORY
I was born in Hamilton and grew up in Greensville; a small village just north of Dundas. It is a lovely place where one can get away from all the hustle-bustle of big city life. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was seven. It was also at this very young age that I started playing the piano and writing Christian music.

While growing up, the best moments in my life were with my four younger brothers, Ruben, Boris, Aaron and Manuel. I have many fond memories of all the fun things we did together. As a family, we did all the things that families enjoy doing, like swimming, camping and just growing up together laughing. But all of this came to an abrupt end when three of my brothers committed suicide. It was awful. It devastated the remaining members of my family. My mother and father's hearts were broken.

Losing my three brothers Aaron, Manuel and Ruben was the hardest struggle I had to face as a young woman. All three of them were now gone forever. Then seven years later I lost my mother to liver disease.

All I have left today are the fond memories of how we would sit together each day at 4 o'clock sharp and have our tea parties. She was cheerful and talkative. We would sit and eat the baked goods that we had made together. I treasure these special times as mother and daughter; and even to this day at 4 o'clock sharp I often find myself thinking about her.

I am now happily married, but my first two experiences with marriage were filled with physical, mental and sexual abuse.

After all I suffered, in what I believed life unfairly dealt me, I was devastated to discover in 1997 that I was diagnosed with Bi-polar mental illness. Here I was faced with having to live with an illness that made me lose all hope in myself, others and God, I gave up on life and turned to alcohol to numb the pain I felt so deeply inside.

Today I can tell you I'm no longer a Victim, I'm a survivor. I accept my illness and my faith in God is strong. I often remind myself of all the blessings God has bestowed on me, like my beautiful son Joshua, and my loving, supporting husband Peter.

God gave me the strength when I was weak to complete my education and receive a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.

God was there even when I didn't trust Him.

Like in the poem footprints in the sand, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

My husband Peter, and partner in life, has had his fair share of struggles; fighting cocaine addiction and a life of crime. But God has raised him up into a man of God whom I admire and love more then anything in the world.

I have never met anyone so loving and supportive. He really cares about how I feel and think. I'm so grateful. Peter has a heart for people who struggle with addiction and the revolving doors of prison.

If you feel you are carrying a burden too heavy to bear, I just want to encourage you to trust in Jesus, and allow Him, to help you, like He has helped us, turn Tragedy To Victory, not as a Victim, but as a Survivor. --- Rebecca Kramer
