The Real World wasn't enough for the talented Rebecca Lord. She worked with variety of musicians to enhance music style, and created the album she was destined to create, Faintest Trace. Her mellow music and enchanting vocals in "Angels Fall" will remind you of Mazzy Star.
Album Review
Faintest Trace, the debut solo recording from Rebecca Lord (of the Seattle Cast of MTV's The Real World and currently starring on the new Road Rules/Real World Extreme Challenge) delivers an album's worth of undeniable pop hooks. After assembling an all-star team featuring members of Agents of Good Roots and River, co-writer/producer Chris Keup and co-producer John Alagia (Dave Matthews, Vertical Horizon), Rebecca tackled a variety of styles and performed convincingly in all. Simple and amusing folk/pop album
author: LaĆs
Rebecca Lord now is in a new band called "becky!" writing and singing a really different kind of music, which I (and she) prefer, but this album is also a really great choice. I got through it for being a big fan of "becky!" and Rebecca herself.
Her voice is smooth, comfortable, and her solo songs are relaxing and amusing. Not anything out-of-this-world like "becky!" is, but it is a nice album, specially to listen to in a warm bath, while driving or with someone. The songs reminded me of Jewel's first works, but I don't know many pop/folk singers to whom I can compare Rebecca to.
My favorite songs of the album would be Great Escape, Desdemona and specially Faintest Trace.
