Janet Stecher and Susan Lewis are the singing duo Rebel Voices. Their provocative repertoire combines political punch and wry wit with intricate harmony and dramatic flair. This powerful and inspiring duo promises an evening of thought provoking, zany, reaffirming music to lift the spirit and prick the conscience.
Comments About Rebel Voices:
"On the heels of Nirvana, the next big Seattle group to make a national splash should be the folk duo REBEL VOICES. . . their arrangements are as tasteful and thoughtful as their selection of songs."
- KDVS - FM Program Guide, Davis, CA
"Exquisite vocal harmonies combined with incisive and penetrating social commentary."
- Bumbershoot Festival, Seattle, WA
"They weave humour, insight, and conviction into their resonant voices and send us back to the world renewed"
- Vancouver Folk Festival
Comments About "A Piece of the Wall":
" . . . Rebel Voices exemplifies the best of the folk tradition, collecting and sharing songs old and new that stir the heart and mind and call on us to celebrate our common humanity, and presenting these songs with power, style, and artistry. Janet Stecher and Susan Lewis create a wonderfully big vocal sound, with arrangements that are as intricate and subtle as they are thrilling. . . . Yet for all the musical fascination and excitement they generate, they rarely distract from the beauty and meaning of the song at hand. . . . A bright, strong, uplifting album."
- Richard Middleton, Victory Review
"Another fantastic album by Rebel Voices...They cover 12 songs, all with social/political content. A Piece of the Wall is definately in the creme de la creme category. , , This is one of finest CDs to come out in the last 12 months.

9 Gold Medals fills more hearts from MO to CA.
author: Shoshana
My sister has a Friday morning radio show in Kansas City, MO. The community radio station (kkfi.org) just went live stream so I can now listen from my home in San Rafael, CA. She always finds new, unusual and ONEderful music. Two Fridays ago she played Nine Gold Medals - my husband (who is a Special Oympics coach!) and I were in awe. We now have the CD and have shared the music with others. In-joy, Shoshana

I especially like the song about the little boys holding hands and running together. And "Billions of Brain Cells" which is funny and has a catchy tune and also the last song about the endlessness of political activism. I like the mellow sound of the two women's voices. It's a cd you can listen to often without getting tired of it.
