Album Notes

Bassist/Producer Rubim de Toledo leads the Edmonton-based collective reClaim. reclaims music focuses on alternative Jazz / Electronica and collective improvisation.

Every Sunday night at the Blackdog Freehouse in Edmonton for 2 and half years the reclaim collective performed 3 sets of improvised music.

In March of 2005 Rubim released a live recording of reClaim named volume 1. Joining him on this live recording are Jim Brenan on tenor sax, drummer Sandro Dominelli and Lane Arndt on guitar and laptop.

reClaim volume 2 was released in December of 2005 and featured Bob Tildesley (Trumpet / Kaoss Pad), Chris Andrew (Keyboards), Rubim de Toledo (Bass) and Sandro Dominelli (Drums).

"Great use of the electronic instrumentation takes the improvisational forms on a different bent, as well as ups the ante sonically."

The reclaim collective will be releasing its first studio recording on May20th of 2006.

This recording will feature:

Bill George - (Drums)

This recording will featuring music from a live dance show in which Rubim de Toledo was commissioned to compose all the music for by Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in Calgary, AB. The show and the disc are titled 'In Charcoal and Crimson'.
