Album Notes

Recliner is a San Francisco foursome making music as raw as it is refined. While this description might seem at odds with itself, it's a dynamic sound drawn from big guitars, a powerful rhythm section and sweet vocal harmonies. And just when you think you've pinned down their influences, they shift gears to create a sound that's all their own. At least that's what they tell people. Here's what people tell us:

"...catchy, pounding, defiant, neurotic ... Recliner will make you want to shake your ass -- believe me, take it from this ass." - DJ Jet, KUSF 90.3 FM

"Recliner's sense of energy and off-kilter sense of humor are airborne infectious. Classic influences are mixed with 80's college radio icons, and filtered through Cartoon Network, John Hughes films and Space Invaders. Recliner is to music what Viagra is to - well, you get the idea" - Score Music Magazine

Sit back & rock out
author: Rob Allen
It is so rare to find a band that can have so much fun making music. The chemistry of the cd is excellent. The band has a great sound, fresh and fruity; a welcome rest from the mono-harmonics of the former Disney playmates. Recliner is a band that has potential to return the eye the music world back to the bay!

Live energy captured well on disc
author: Glen in the Park
I saw these guys in San Francisco by accident. I went to see a show my friends were playing on, and these guys opened. I was blown away by their energy. A nice blend of influences that you can't quite put your finger on. They have songs that are still in your head the next morning. I know they say here that they sound like Cheap trick or whatever, but I don't think that's quite right. It's not so bubble gum rock. They did a great job of capturing their energy on this disc. I have to say I like them even better on disc. It's rare I say that about a band I like live. My only complaint is that it's so short.

Recliner is to music what Viagra is to - Well, you get the idea.

Recliner’s sense of energy and slightly off-kilter sense of humor is airborne infectious. The good kind - not the kind that requires painful shots or quarantine. Classic influences are mixed with 80's college radio icons, and filtered through Cartoon Network, John Hughes films and Space Invaders. The Beach Boys, The Kinks, Cheap Trick, even “Leader of the Pack”; throw in a screaming 80's guitar on “I Don’t Ask Much” and horns on “Wave Goodbye”. Recliner is to music what Viagra is to - Well, you get the idea.
